Robert leads the commercial division of Black Walnut with a depth of experience shaped by formal training and years of hands-on leadership in the industry. He studied Construction Science and Management at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, and has spent his entire career in the commercial construction space—working for large multinational corporations as well as respected regional construction firms before founding Black Walnut. A Lexington, South Carolina native, Robert grew up in the community where Black Walnut is now headquartered, and he and his family continue to live and work here today. When he’s not on a job site or collaborating with architects and clients, you can usually find him outdoors—often kayaking.
